Adjusting Valves
« on: August 03, 2009, 05:56:53 PM »
Does anybody know the exact steps and measurement to adjusting the valves on my 650 Brute.
Figure I got it all tore apart what better time to do the valves when the front one is exposed.

Its a bitch without an angled feeler gauge. Do yourself a favor and pull your airbox off. It will make getting to the intakes on the front cyl. alot easier.

There's nothing to it at all...........I just drop them off at 1bad's and it magically gets done.  :)

Start on the back cylinder. By the time you have it done you will be able to do the front one without having to be able to see your every move.

stumper, we are talking about adjusting valves. Not peeing in the dark  ;D

but yes the back one will get you familiar with what goes on in the front.Just put some lite oil on the gauge and adjust the valves til you can still pull the gauge out with some resistance.Hand on to the valve adjuster when you tighten the locking nut back up
