I dont think you would have an issue with their shocks, I have heard good things about their shocks
I am talking strictly just the struts. I am imagine a company like that is doing more research and testing on their double A-arm shocks etc, basically the struts are a fading technology.
I just got an email from one of the engineers I have been working with, here he what he said:
Unfortunately the nature of a strut
design means that the forces at work are trying to bend the shock in the
middle, which causes major side loading. Side loading is the enemy of a
reciprocating assembly. It causes accelerated wear and ultimately damage
to the assembly. The strut design requires that the strut act as a
spindle, an upper suspension member, as well as being a coil-over
shock-- all at the same time. Regular shocks on double a-arms function
only as a shock. As a shock, there are no forces trying to unscrew the
assembly. With a strut, steering causes the side loading against the
threaded seal head, which locks it up and can unscrew it. I believe this
is what may have happened to you and a few other owners. Once the seal
head starts to unscrew, it will leak oil from the top of the shock tube.
Once it loses oil, it will have no rebound control, and the floating
piston inside will interfere with the stroke of the strut.
With that said, their custormer service is 2nd to none and top notch. To honor and stand behind a product still out of warranty says alot about a company. Regardless of the issues they have been great to work with.
