We will be at Talsmas barring some unforseen problem.  Hopefully I can get a bunch of the guys down here to come as well.  My wife and I will be there on Saturday and camp overnight. See you there.

well got the drag strip box scraped down to dirt, got the big hump out of it, should be pretty smooth as long as the locals stay off of it, also got the mud tilled up with a disc, however it will need to get done again because it is not very deep, it will get field culivated about three days before so should be good, now all we have to do is show up and race,

could you get a rototiller instead of a cultivator?  it will make the mud more consitant.

Don't use a field cultivator.  That is what we used and the pits were TERRIBLE.  I mean at the end it was like driving through peanut butter.  I would go with the disk and fill it up and soak for a day or two.  By the time the small classes get through it will be churned up and maybe even need more water.  We learned the hard way this past weekend in Wakefield.

GUYS you have to add lots of water and i mean lots,if you dont the pits dry out and they end up having tracks that anyone can drive through instead of filling back in.That ends up just being a speed race not a mud race.If you want a deep pit just add more water not more mud or it ends up where no one makes it and has to be pulled out which really drags things out.ALL the pits at places like mud nationals and stuff are just deep muddy water.ANOTHER TIP build the pit deeper towards the end where everyone starts so the water does not get pushed out the other end so much it will run back into the pit.The atvs are alot easier to clean afterwards and its alot easier on the machines.I think if the pits start drying out a person needs to just add more water which will get muddy all by itself :)

That's what we did was made the track and dug the pits and then tilled it and in the pits we added another layer of dirt and tilled and pour the water to it. Like I said in other posts gravity was working against us on where we had the track built, this is the bottom hole towards the end of the day.
