Black hills laws

Does anyone know if it is legal to use an ATV to retrieve an elk that is off the trail in the Black hills? I see in the "new" rules they are planning you can use one within 100 yds of the trail.Just dont know about now.

I would think that as long as you have your firearm unloaded and cased there shouldn't be any problems. I think as long as it is legal to ride there, it should be ok to recover downed game. This is just a thought, not sure what the law says.
