6th annual Drag Race, Radar Run, and Lemans race.

I don't know if any of you would be interested, but on Friday the 20th, there is an ATV drag race on Big Stone Lake, and an Ice Lemans (2-3 mile road course) the next day.  It's probably a long drive for most of you, but what else is there to do with ATV's in the winter, right?

Looks like we've got some conflicting information here.  I just called the guy and he told me Friday for the drag race and the website says Saturday.  I will find out for sure.

Wish I could go.  Never done anything like that.  Do you have a set of tires with screws?  I'm guessing that would be a must huh?  Or do they have studded and non studded classes?  I couldn't find it on that site.

I will be studding one of my sets of tires.  Much to my wife's dismay, I have 3 full sets to choose from.  For the ATV's, there's only one class for the drag race- anything goes.  For the Lemans there's two classes, the pro and the trophy class.  I asked what the difference was and he said that the pro class gets to use the ice spikes and the trophy class uses studs.  I'm not sure what I think of a 600ft drag race, but I will give it a shot.  I'd sure like to see some Kawi's show up here because they are few and far between up here.  There's a couple Can-am's around, but almost everyone has a Polaris or a Honda.

I don't have a good clutch I can run on the 800 right now but it would be fun to give it a shot.  At 600' on ice I'd be bouncing off the limiter but I'll see if I'm allowed to have some fun that weekend.  What are you using for studs and where can I get some locally?

I was told that the drags and qualifying for the Lemans race are Sat.  The radar run and finals are on Sun.

I am going to try 3/8" sheet metal screws.  I don't know what works and what doesn't.  I have heard that if you pump your tires way up to 20#, then drive in your screws, then let the air back out, the screws are supposed to stay in better.  I do have one major problem, though.  The guy that's putting in my nitrous is sponsoring some of the events, so I hope he doesn't drag his feet on purpose.  I'm sure he wants to put on a good show with the 850XP.  He's got less than 2 weeks so I will start bugging him.

This is what Steve (the guy on the flyer) said is the schedule for the ATV stuff. 

Well tell them to kick it in the ass....I want to see that beast run.  Kingrob just called and said that he should be able to make it.  So there will be one Brute there.  I won't have the 650 done in time but I can take the V.

It should be a good time.  They just started working on mine today, so it SHOULD be done.  Hey Moby, why don't you buy some 30" Silverbacks so you don't hit the rev limiter right away.  Nothing like a nice, light, smooth riding tire for ice racing.     If all you guys show up, there won't be any winners that are local.    They are going to be shocked as hell to see how fast you guys are.

moby you can run my tires, you can put 3 inch screws in them and they still wont leak

Man, I'm usually a big fan of screwing, but for some reason driving screws into tires is not fun.     I just bought 150 screws to see how far they would get me.  I only studded half of one front tire with 150.
