Arctic Cat Questions
« on: August 19, 2008, 07:08:34 AM »
Hey guys,
i have a few questions here.
I now have 95 miles and about 10 hours on my 07 400cc Arctic Cat quad. I know you are supposed to get the first oil change done at this time. Do you suggest i bring it in, or is it something i could do on my own?
Also, i am thinking about getting a winch and a snow plow for it. I have done little research on this. I have seen the push blades or the deflectors, i have also seen the blades you can pull. Are there any pros or cons to these.
Thanks.

I plan to do my first oil-change my self.  I have been going every other to the dealership , to have it all checked out.  I have a glacier plow , made by polaris.  great plow , I just dont know if they make mounts for a cat.

Hey Frogman.  I have done all my oil changes myself including the first one, but in hindsight maybe the first one should be done by the dealer.  Just in case something happens they can't blame it on you.  As far as blades go, just make sure you either get a heavy blade or if you want to spend a little more you can get the adapter that gives you down pressure on the blade.  I have a Moose County Plow and I love it.  Nice and heavy and well built.  It seems hard to break.  I've hit tree stumps and other things hidden under the snow and had no problems.  Good luck with your decision.

I have a warn winch and a cylcle country plow.  If you wait alittle longer most dealerships have specials on that stuff.  I bought my winch and plow for $250.  It was a great promo.

That is not a bad deal at all. I am looking at a plow just for snow removal on my own driveway and maybe a few of the neighbors driveways. So it does not have to be top of the line by any means, but i do not want a cheap crappy one either. Kind of middle of the road is what i am looking at.

If I can suggest to just go to cambell supply and other places that sell these things and just check out the construction on them.  Some are better than others.  The only complaint I have on mine is that is does not stay on the ground,  But I drive 20-25 mph and I have alot of cracks in my sidewalk and driveway.

How about the plow that hooks into the reciever hitch? Do they also require a winch? Just wondering.

I agree with ryan12 if wanting to push snow or something you have to buy a front one.  If you are looking for something to smoothen out something and it has to be more perfect  then either buy a rear mount or a hand rake. LOL  Just kidding, buy a drag.
