Looking for some input on interest
« on: August 17, 2008, 07:12:12 PM »
I've been kicking this around for a while now and am looking for input.  Anyone that wants to add something feel free.  This would be a new business market for us and I don't believe there is a true shop in SD that has this possibility for tuning.

We are looking to add a Dynojet ATV chassis dyno to our shop.  Currently we run a Dynojet Snowmobile Chassis dyno and we sell a ton of snowmobile performance items during the winter.  This would be to help keep us busy during the summer and expand our business.

Dyno time costs/fees:
Base fee $75
After base fee $40/hr

The base fee would include getting everything setup and going on the dyno as well as 3 baseline dyno runs.  From there on out it would be $40 per hour.  Could do pretty much anything.  Clutching, exhaust, air box modifications, jetting or EFI tweaking via Power Commander items, etc.  Let me know what you guys think!

I've been traveling to Omaha to do my junk, hell yeah I'd use you.  I couldn't find a shop in sioux falls that would do a quad.  The prices quoted are very reasonable.  Your experience with dynoing cvt's would put you well ahead of most shops when it comes to tuning the utes.  Oh, I'm getting excited now.....I hope you're not just a tease.  So where is your shop anyway?

Would you be able to tune EFI machines that are not running a power commander?  Mine has a VDI Copperhead and you can adjust everything from the spark tables to acceleration enrichment, warmup tuning, you name it.  I'm not sure but I don't think you can adjust while it's actually on the dyno.  Any thoughts on this?

Thumber, could tune other EFI controllers as well.  The dyno will have a full setup for Air/Fuel ratio, etc.  I am most familiar with the Dynojet products and the Doebeck style controllers, but all function realitively the same, just have to get familiar with them.  A few specs on the dyno.  Keep the input coming!

Shop is in Menno.  Mapquest link direct to shop.  Ulmer Racing

Also if you want take a look at our website and see what we offer.  During the winter we mostly specialize in Yamaha sleds, but can work on anything.  We would have alot of the same type of performance items available for ATV's as well.  We are a distributor for Dalton, EPI, etc etc.

bottlerocket, I have worked on older sleds in the past, we get so busy during the winter that it can get hectic at times.  What type of sled do you have?
