From my limited racing experience I've noticed those YFZ 450s seem to be in the front of the pack most of the time but I don't like the way they feel, the Hondas are fast also and seem very well built, I had a 07 LTR 450 and loved it. I put a cherry bomb and a full DASA exhaust system on it and with comparable weight I was running with YFZs and Honda 450s that had exhaust and motor work also. If you have not ridden a Suzuki LTR then I think you should give it a chance, I was very impressed. You can get LTRs out of MN for about $1800 less then Sioux Falls. Defiantly best bang for the buck.

Of course if you just want to win drag races then I'd go Brute Force. ;)

i have not riden the LTR but do like what i hear from them. i'm still leaning toward the 450 however. few buddies have one and really like how they ride. i would just like to get a few more opinions before getting to serious still.

The big thing that the Suzuki has going for it is that it has fuel injection. No fooling around with jets every time you turn around.

But, I've got a YFZ 450, I really like the way that it handles, and it's got plenty of power for what I use it for. Then again, I've never rode a LTR 450 and only rode a TRX 450 once, for a little bit, but riding it was what made me decide that I needed to have a sport quad.

I also think the ltr 450 would be a good choice but if you plan on riding tight trials it wouldnt be the one for you because of its width. If I were to buy another quad it would have to have efi just because it makes things alot easier.

I have an LTR and love it. I used to own an 04 YFZ and would never go back. The LTR feels like such a better built machine. At almost 50 inches wide and a very low center of gravity it handles awesome and is very stable, I have a full DASA system, intake and PC and its quite a bit faster than my YFZ was with a pipe, intake and jetting. But I think Honda's are pretty well built quads also. I dont think they are quite up to par as far as power goes when stock, But I hear they can be built to make a lot of very reliable power. You may want to take a Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki out for a ride to see which one you like the best.

Umm I am not exactly sure. I am well into 4th gear so I'd probably say between 50-60. Its probably a couple mph's faster than 1bad's renegade when we come through the traps and I'm not sure what that is. Today in 500ft I was clicking into 5th about 80ft before the end so I'd say thats somewhere around the 70mph mark, give or take a few.
