WE WILL DO THE MUD DRAGS AFTER THE GRASS DRAGS:
WE WILL TRY TO HAVE THE GRASS DRAG STRIP ABOUT 300 FEET
WE WILL ALSO TRY SOMETHING NEW WITH THE MUD DRAGS.  WE WILL HAVE ONE ATV START AT THE OPPISITE END AND WILL RACE THROUGH THEIR PIT, COME OUT AND GO BACK THROUGH THE OTHER PIT.  THAT WAY NO MATTER WHAT THE LANES ARE LIKE IT WILL BE EVEN.  IT WILL TAKE A LITTLE LONGER BUT WILL ADD SOME EXCITEMENT AND WILL HAVE NO LANE BETTER THAN THE OTHER, BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH BOTH LANES BEFORE YOU CAN WIN.

I TALKED WITH ONE OF THE MEMBERS FOR FUR TRADER DAYS AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS WHAT WE WILL HAVE FOR CLASSES.  THEY WILL CHARGE $3.00 AT THE GATE FOR SPECTATERS AND THAT WILL GET YOU IN TO WATCH ALL THE EVENTS THAT DAY.  THEIR IS A TRUCK PULL AND A GUN SHOOT ALSO GOING ON THAT DAY THAT PEOPLE CAN WATCH..  PLAN ON COMING EVERYONE, LAST YEAR WAS AWSOME AND THIS YEAR IT WILL EVEN BE BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES I WILL POST THEM FOR YOU TO SEE.

Have you figured out a way to determine the winner when the race is close? Gonna be tough with them finishing at opposite ends.

we will have a guy on each end of the pit, to line each atv up.  Then we will have one guy stand in the middle that will start both the racers with a flag drop.  Then the guys that are on each end will raise their flag when the atv crosses the line.  so the guy in the middle will watch to see which flag is raised first.  make sense??????????

Should work as long as the guy in the middle is far enough back to see both end guys without looking away from one or the other.

How come at all these races you guys have up there, you never till the ground for paddles? And how come its never 300'? If you would do that, you would draw alot of drag bikes out of Nebraska and Iowa.

Instead of a guy in the middle watching both ends for the finish, you should have another guy at one end, to watch both flags. It would be easier to see both flags from the end as opposed to the middle.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, if you were to put a little more emphasis and work into the grass and dirt drags you could draw a huge crowd, plus some pretty amazing drag bikes that would be a huge crowd pleaser. But I do realize it takes a lot of work and time to get it set up, but definately something to look into.

I'm going to have to agree with goodsound here, Yankton had 500 ft. lanes and that was alot more interesting to watch. I can see if there is limited space we have to have enough room to stop on the other side but, if we have the space lets stretch 'em out a little bit.

Yeah it would be nice to get into 3rd gear atleast and make a little more race out of it, plus it would do a lot for the sport and bring a lot more people in to participate. But I do give you guys credit, I'm sure it takes a lot of work and time to do what you are doing, and if we can make it better then good deal, but you can only do what you can do. Thanks A lot.

Also...one more thing. I know in Genoa they used to have to flaggers at the end on each side to agree who won, I know some of those races in Lake Andes were very close to call. Just a thought.

We will not be able to till the ground for the paddle tires.  I think we can possibly get 250-300 feet lanes for the grass drags.  I will get up to Geddes next week and do some measuring and I will let everyone know next week.

We should have plenty of people watching the flags for decision and if it is that close we will race again.  We appreciate all the suggestions that we are getting and we will look into all the ideas.

Look forward to seeing youj in Geddes.

talsams did the dual lane race today and it worked out awesome. the only way to do a mud run.  i will try to get 300 foot lanes in geddes and i will look into tilled ground.  i dont think i can get it done will the tilling part.  the guys that run paddle tires should also have normal tires they can use.  i will get the 300 foot if at all possible to help you racers out.  it takes lots of work and help.  i will try to please as many as i can. i will let everyone know this week.  but the dual lanes mud drag is fun because of the turns and that is where most of the races were won today.  i got 1st in 2x4 and 1st in 4x4 and 3rd in open

Every race was very close at Talsmas,the only ones that were not close was when someone messed up the turn which was nice to see the added driver skill involved.We tryed the circle race for the first time and all the racers enjoyed it and it is more fun to watch. ;D

I went to Geddes today, I should be able to get a 100 yard drag strip, that would be 300 feet!!  Is this what most of you want?  Like I said MOST!
