ATV MUD DRAG: TRACK RULES

CLAY COUNTY FAIR VERMILLION


Start

Once the flag drops the race is started, there are no restarts. Each group will consist of two riders, each getting two
runs, double elimination, rider wins or advances to the next round. Riders must stay within the confines of the race
course area; riders will not be allowed to leave the race course for repair and returned to finish your run.


Referee

The designated referee will be the person making the final decisions on any situation that may occur at an event

outside of an injury, in which case the acting emergency medical technician will be in charge. Referee can also

change or alter rules at his or her discretion.


Drug and Alcohol Policy

Drugs and Alcohol will not be tolerated during a race and all riders will respect the track policy on this rule. Riders

found participating in an event under the influence of drugs or alcohol can and will be removed from the event.


Pit Riding

This is strictly prohibited. Bikes can be tested outside of arena, using good judgment riders need to have all protective

gear on. Under no circumstances can young children be allowed to ride for enjoyment purposes outside of the event.

NO JOY RIDING WHATSOEVER! Riders reported doing so will be subject to loss of participation to the event.

Referee is to make the judgment call if such a matter arises


Requirements

• Numbers provided by the event must be displayed on the front of the machine

• No Alcohol, Nitro methane or other volatile additives are to be used, only racing fuel is permitted with an octane rating of no more than 114. Any ATV that does not meet these requirements will be subject to forfeit of entry.


All Riders must have:

• Leather Sole Boots, that rise above the ankle

• Long Pants

• Full Helmet

• Goggles


CLASS DEFINITIONS

Class modifications can be made only by consent of the referee. This is to include how each race is to be defined
and classified. Classes are designed to keep the race field competitive and fair.
You can go up CC divisions, but not down.


All classes have both 2 & 4 wheel drive divisions.

2x4 Division                   4x4 Division

0-500cc                           300-399cc

500-OPEN                       400-499cc

                                       500-599cc

                                       600-699cc

                                       700-799cc

                                       OPEN

 

$10.00 fee per race. Limit of two (2) division races. (Must be at least 16 years of age to participate)

 

NOTE: AGE VERIFICATION REQUIRED, PLEASE BRING DRIVERS LICENSE TO EVENT. FAILURE TO

PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROOF OF AGE COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. ALL MINORS MUST HAVE A PARENTAL SIGNED RELEASE FORM.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE OF ANY KIND. PLEASE HAVE PROOF OF

INSURANCE; YOU ARE RIDING AT YOUR OWN RISK.

camoman, tell them to do the dual lane, it works and it is very fair.

Yeah the dual lane is very fair.  I ran the dual lane at talsma's last weekend and got second because of an error on my pary during the turn I took it too wide and had to back up.  With the dual lanes people can't bitch because one lane is better than the other and also the technical part with the turn comes into affect.

I think you were racing me, i have the camo 650 brute.  it was a good time though!!!!  I was the one who won the foot race.

geddes is about 40 miles from talsmas, or 19 miles from pickstown, or about 75 miles from yankton

Has anyone looked  at the link under rules.  They have changed the classes.  I think my wife will now run her 400 in the 400-499.  Hopefully there will be more in that class so she can run.  It will be her first time.

No, you don't need proof of insurance to race. Also there will be no dual lanes, they do not have enough room to work with for the turn arounds. So there will only be one pass through side by side as usual. They will try to keep the lanes as even as possible.

Might not be racing that night , but I will be there to help out!! Everyone that was there last year should have got an entry form in the mail. ;)

Is the track likethe picture in the link?  I hope so I don't want a drag race I want alot of mud and water.  If it will be that muddy I will be there.  About how many people were there last year?

Last year there were 66 quads, and it was deeper pits. They will probably be the same for this year! ;)
