Yeah for sure bring your riding buddies. There should be plenty of room for us to tear things up! i know a couple guys that are going to make it up from yankton so we should have a good time. So do you and your friends have a riding team?

Look foward to checking the place out Steve. Should be a good time.

Motorhead, if you are still in the market for a sport quad I would check out the LTR. I love mine, they come 50" wide stock and have some of the best suspension for a stock quad. Not to mention with the 3 basic bolt ons they make really good power. You can take mine for a spin at Steve's if you want. It would probably be a smart thing to drive a couple sport quads first and see which one you like best!

I don't know about a riding team, just some guys that like to ride.  I talked to a couple guys that are sponsored riders, but I don't know If they are going to make it.  I am always up for a test ride Kaiser.  Good news guys, I am going to bring down the bbq grill and my girlfriend is going fix up some bbq chicken and burgers.  Don't worry, I've got a case of redbull and a few cases of beer too!

Sounds good Motorhead! Nothing beats a good day of riding and kickin back a few coldies. i have a drag strip set up in the field so we should be able to run the quads too. That way we can see if kaiser's LTR is really as fast as everyone says it is.....haha

The new motorized vehicle use map (MVUM) for the Black Hills National Forest will be available in paper copies and on the Internet beginning Saturday, Oct. 25.

Black Hills National Forest Supervisor Craig Bobzien said the MVUM is the official and legal document that details the new motorized vehicle system for the Black Hills, developed over the past five years during the travel planning process.

The new map will be in effect beginning Dec. 1, 2010, Bobzien said. The MVUM will be updated annually.

The MVUM and related documents and files, including a question and answer sheet, searchable legend and map text, and other user aids can be found at http://go.usa.gov/a3X

by clicking on the motor vehicle use map [MVUM] text on the front page.

The new Motorized Trail Permit system is explained on the web site, including rules and needed documents in South Dakota.

Wyoming will continue to follow current state rules for enrolled routes.

The MVUM on the Internet is in electronic searchable form.

"People can type in a route number or the name of a place and the map will enlarge the area you are looking for," said Tom Willems, travel management implementation leader.

Willems said the MVUM will be available for free in paper copies on Oct. 25 at Forest Service offices.

The public may call Forest Service offices after Oct. 25 for further information on the MVUM and the new motorized vehicle trail system, Willems said.

Annual, weekly and commercial special recreation permits to use the new system will be available Oct. 25 at Forest Service offices. The motorized vehicle permits are explained on the Internet.

Bobzien said public orientation workshops to discuss the maps and the permit system will be held in various places and times after Oct.25.  "We want to make it as easy as possible for people to use the new maps and buy permits," Bobzien said.

Meetings in the Northern Hills will include two at the Spearfish Forest Service Office, 2014 N. Main, on Saturday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Nov. 20. Both will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Hell Canyon area will be discussed at the Forest Service Headquarters, 1910 N. 5th St., in Custer on Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Mystic area will be covered at the Forest Service Center, 8221 S. Highway 16 in Rapid City on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to Noon.

The Bearlodge area will at the Sundance, Wyo., Forest Service Office, 101 S. 21st St., on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Well todays the day, you will need a Black Hills Forest Service sticker to ride the hills, as of this morning. Gonna be interesting to see how it all works out. Hope they don't get ticket happy with people. Talked to Nemo and they said you can't drive out of there without a plate, so that will be interesting. Guess my kid won't be going along or we all stay home. They mentioned that they didn't know of any campgrounds in the area you could drive from without a plate.

It wouldn't take much for the state to make it legal to ride on the public roads of the black hills with just the sticker
just make it mandatory that they have mirrors, lights and insurance.

There is a bunch of trails up by Spearfish starting at Tinton trail. Check out the Dakota 50 web site, it shows a map of the race with all the different trails you could ride. Sounds like the 50 miles of trails for the race has been groomed and in great shape, 80% single-track.
