Independence Speedway on June 26th, over $6,500 in payouts
« on: June 16, 2010, 12:40:27 PM »
My event is a flat track race, very simple! I'm going to start the day off with morning drag races; it will take place on the home stretch of the track. It is 100 yards to a right 180-degree turn around a 55-gallon barrel then 100 yards back to the finish. It involves a little more skill than a straight drag. Then I have all the heat races for the 25-lap race following the horseshoe drags. I will have an intermission to set up the finals. The heats for every class are 10 laps, and the final is 25 laps I want to actually see a long race instead of a race being over in 5 minutes like flat track races usually are. One of my most pre-registered races so far is the team race. This is an opportunity for you and a friend to sign up and race together, its fun because you have to depend on your teammate in order to do well The first rider starts on the back stretch and does 4 laps and once he/she passes their start mark your team mate will be signaled to take off from the actual starting line, then they do their four laps and finish through the actual finish line. But my final race is a DA$H FOR CA$H it is 50 LAPS!!!. If you can hang on for the whole race you will win $300 for that one race, and it is only $15 to sign up for. There is a lot more information on my website if you pre-register I knock off $5 of your entry fee that gets you into the main race of 25 laps. Are the classes by actual CC or what ever is on the side on the machine?  Like a 475cc forman that is called a 500.  Does it get to race in the below 499 or above 500?

On the website the classes are on the Race Events/Schedule, but yeah it is whats on the side of the machine, if there is not something on the side then I will base it off what the engine size actually is. I know a lot of different machines plus I have a two other guys that will help me inspect some machines in question. So you will be in the 500cc and up.

Gunner, if you get work off to make it to my race I'll wave your entry fee for the team race, you will just need to find a partner for it! I want everyone to make it down.

Haha well bottlerocket I'd like to see you make it up too. Maybe you can help gunner make his team race look good. It can be a cross between, utility 4-wheeler, sport quad, or dirt bike.

It is a possibility!  Depends on when I get moved into the new house.  But I do not think I would help that cause either!  :P  It would be fun!!!  Have to see what day we close on our house.  Then see how long it will take to get everything in the house so the wife can unpack!!  :o  ;)

I would have to get some handicap lengths if I let a Suzuki on my team.  I could just as well have Allison with her 6 volt as my teammate. :o

I put a bug in the boss's ear, so we'll see what comes of working next Saturday.  The trouble is I won't know until Friday.

Hey just for you guys who didn't hear, my event is for utility 4-wheelers as well. As of right now I only have 6 registered and could us as many as possible. I will let you guys run in four wheel drive in both the main races and the drags. And if your not a flat track guy come out and try it, this will be the one opportunity that you will have in this area to race flat track with whatever machine you have. No flat track tires or nerf bars needed.
